The first significant Hindi film of 2024 is the Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi film Merry Christmas, though a Tamil version is also showing in comparatively fewer theaters. The movie was supposed to release at the end of last year, but its release was postponed because most of the theaters were showing Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and Prabhas’ Salaar. In just two days after its release, the romantic thriller has made Rs 6 crore, according to a report from industry tracker Sacnilk. Merry Christmas is estimated to have made Rs 3.5 crore on day two after earning Rs 2.5 crore on day one. Sacnilk states that the Hindi version of the movie had an overall occupancy of 18%, with night shows accounting for 22% of the total.
