Dairy unit turned Drug hub: CID unearth 386 kg Opium

The Crime Branch of the Police Headquarters exposed the drug trade taking place in a dairy unit in Kekadi district, Rajasthan. Crime Branch, in collaboration with the local police, conducted a raid in the Ratkot village, leading to the discovery of 386 kilograms and 700 grams of illicit opium Doda (a type of opium derivative) from the office and warehouse of the Dairy Producers Cooperative Society. The estimated international market value of the seized opium is nearly Rs 40 lakh. One individual was arrested, during the operation.
Inspector General of Police, Crime, Prabhat Kumar, informed that this is the second major operation against the narcotics trade conducted by the CID Crime Branch in two days. Earlier, on Friday, the team arrested a smuggler and seized 625 kilograms of illicit doda post from the Bayawar district.
Inspector General Kumar further stated that the tip-off for this operation was received under the leadership of Additional SP Rajesh Malik and Additional SP Naroottam Lal Verma. Following this, a joint team from the Crime Branch and the Bhinay police conducted a search in the office and warehouse of Yuvraj Singh’s dairy unit in Ratkot village.
According to Inspector General Kumar, the accused was running a drug trade in the dairy unit. During the operation, the police team seized 385 kilograms and 700 grams of high-quality illicit opium doda from 19 sacks.
The arrested accused, identified as Vikas Tiwari, son of Mahavir from Gulabpura district in Bhilwara, has been booked under the NDPS Act.
Additionally, Kumar noted that the operation involved the participation of AASI Banwari Lal, Head Constable Suresh Kumar, Sohan Singh, Rakesh Jakhar, Constable Jitendra Kumar, and Kuldeep Singh. ASI Banwari Lal Sharma played a crucial role in the entire operation.
