Customs seizes almost 600 grams of gold at Cochin Airport, and one person is arrested

On Sunday, Cochin International Airport Customs agents apprehended a guy and seized foreign origin 24-carat gold rings worth 488.50 gms and gold jewelry weighing 130.80 gms.
The value of the recovered gold, which weighed 619.30 gms, is estimated to be 33.35 lakhs.
Sadiq Muhammad of Kozhikode has been named as the guy arrested.
“Based on the profiling done by the officers of AIU Batch, a family of five who arrived from Dubai on flight IX436 at Cochin International Airport was intercepted at the green channel.” “Suspicious images were discovered in the checked-in baggage, which were opened and checked,” stated Customs Cochin in a statement.
