Adverse weather conditions and unexpected rains have wreaked havoc on crops in a district of Himachal Pradesh, resulting in an estimated damage of over Rs 29 crore, according to officials on Monday. Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Hem Raj Bairwa shared that data from the agriculture and horticulture departments of District Emergency Operation Centre showed that various crops suffered losses during the pre-monsoon season. The losses have been estimated to exceed Rs 29.35 crore. The damage to traditional crops like wheat has been particularly severe, accounting for around Rs 29.19 crore.
