Critical crack emerges in IFFCO Chowk flyover, NHAI ensures repairs

In Cyber City Gurugram, a crack has appeared in the IFFCO Chowk flyover constructed by the NHAI. A gap of approximately 4 to 5 inches wide and about 100 feet long has developed between the four lanes of this flyover, posing a potential risk of accidents at any time. As soon as the incident came to light, NHAI officials claimed that the flyover would be repaired promptly. NHAI has now placed barricades around the crack and stationed security personnel for the safety of commuters.
The IFFCO Chowk flyover, inaugurated in 2019, has been a crucial infrastructure project connecting various parts of Gurugram. However, the recent development of a substantial crack has raised concerns about the structural integrity of the flyover. NHAI authorities assure quick remedial action to address the issue and prevent any potential accidents.
Constructed at a cost of approximately 38.73 crores INR, the 84-meter-long flyover project commenced in 2016 and was completed in 2019. The flyover plays a pivotal role in easing traffic congestion in the Cyber City area. NHAI, responsible for the construction and maintenance of national highways and key road infrastructure, has taken immediate steps to secure the affected area and initiate repair work.
Officials from NHAI have assured that the necessary repairs will be carried out swiftly to ensure the safety and reliability of the flyover. Additionally, barricades have been placed around the cracked portion to prevent access and mitigate the risk of accidents. Security personnel are present at the site to manage traffic and ensure the safety of commuters.
