Crime Branch Sector 26 Panchkula arrested a drug smuggler. The arrested accused was identified as Manish son of Raj Kumar resident of Seva Nagar Putlighar Amritsar Punjab. Police recovered 50.50 mg heroin from the possession of the accused. Giving information, Crime Branch Inspector Gurmel Singh said that the team was present in Sector 26, 27, 28 area while patrolling. The police received secret information that the above mentioned person, Manish Kumar, is involved in the business of smuggling of illegal drug, heroin. According to the information, while patrolling, a person was seen from Sector 26 IT Park, who was controlled and interrogated. The person who gave his name and address as Manish son of Rajkumar resident of Sadar Bazar Cantt Amritsar Punjab. On searching the accused, 50.50 mg heroin was recovered. A case was registered under the NDPS Act at Chandimandir police station and the accused was arrested. The arrested accused was produced before the court and taken on police remand for 1 day.
