Covid-19: Haryana inoculates 1,000,000 health and frontline workers

In wake of acute spike in fresh Covid-19 cases in Haryana, the state government is on toes to strengthen the vaccination process in order to tackle the fatal disease. Besides, the vaccine is being administered at large scale among those medical team members and others fighting with corona on front as more that 10 lakh Corona Health Line and Front line workers have been given both doses of the vaccine. Apart from this, a third dose known as precaution or booster dose also has been administered among nearly 53 Front Line and Health Line workers in the state. Besides, the health department continues to put its best to speed up the process of corona testing in order to achieve the timely diagnosis of the disease.

According to the departmental information, nearly more than 40 thousand samples are being tested a day in the state While the prevailing Corona positivity rate is about 21 percent on an average out of the total sample being tested in Haryana. It is pertinent to mention that the government has already given a nod for the third dose of the vaccine for the senior citizens falling in 60 years or more than this. As many as 73061 senior citizens have been vaccinated so far until January 27, 2021, which constitutes about 12 percent of the total population declared eligible for third dose. Anil Vij , the Health Minister who also holds the portfolio of the Home Minister said that sufficient stock of oxygen and medicine is available in the hospitals across the state He further said that the government is committed to provide timely treatment along with the other facilities to the Covid-19 patients.

The vaccine also has been administered among 7687585 male and females falling in the 45-60 age group, including the first dose to 98 percent to be followed by the second dose to 84 percent to the eligible population. It is also pertinent to mention that the government has given approval for the opening of the schools from 10 to 12 class along with giving approval of vaccines for the population falling in the 15-17 age group. But only vaccinated students of above -mentioned classes will be allowed to enter schools.Apart from aforesaid, the death toll continues to witness a spurt in the state as the multifold untimely deaths of the patients is being reported in January as compared to previous months in Haryana.
