A Delhi court delayed its decision on the issuance of summons in a defamation lawsuit brought by Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the latter’s “misleading statements” about the alleged Sanjeevani scam.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Harpreet Singh has scheduled the matter for order on summons issuance on June 24, 2023, following the conclusion of submission and recording of pre-summoning of evidence.
Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa, appearing on behalf of Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, stated that Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot is a Chief Minister of the state and is speaking about a pending investigation. Who is in charge of this probe is the question. CrPC does not recognise the Chief Minister, and he will be unable to view the Chargesheet even if it is filed in court.
