Canadian singer Shubneet Singh alias Shubh, who came into controversy after the post of removing Punjab Jammu and Kashmir from the map of India, has issued his first statement after the entire incident. This reaction of Shubneet aka Shubh comes after boat-speaker company Mumbai withdrew sponsorship and the show was canceled from September 23 to
September 25.
Singer Shubh’s tour, not just in Mumbai, but the entire India tour has been canceled. Which shows were to be held in different 12 cities including Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Book My Show has given this information in a post on the social media platform.
The company said that customers would get a full refund of tickets within 7-10 days. The show was to be held on the Cordelia Cruise. Shubh was to perform his show in Mumbai from 23-25 September. After this, the show was also organized in Chandigarh on 6 October and Ludhiana on 7 October.
Shubh has reacted to this entire incident on his social media account. Shubh said- As a young rapper-singer coming from Punjab, India, it was the dream of my life to put my music on the international stage. However recent events have affected my hard work and progress. I wanted to say a few words to express my disappointment and sorrow.
I am extremely disappointed with the cancellation of my tour in India. I was very excited to perform in my own country, in front of my own people. Preparations were in full swing and I had been practicing with all my heart and soul for the last two months. I was ready to perform, but I guess destiny had other plans.
India is my country too. I was born here. This is the land of my gurus and my ancestors, who did not even blink an eye to make sacrifices for the freedom of this land, for its glory, and for the family. Punjab is my soul, Punjab is in my blood. Whatever I am today, I am because of being Punjabi. Punjabis do not need to give proof of patriotism.
At every turn of history, Punjabis have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of this country. Therefore, my humble request is that you should avoid labeling every Punjabi as a separatist or anti-national. My intention in re-sharing that post on my story was only to pray for Punjab as there were reports of power and internet shutdowns across the state. There was no other thought behind it and it was certainly not my intention to offend anyone.
The allegations against me have deeply affected me. But as my Guru has taught me “Manas ki jaat sabhai ekai pachhinbo” (Considering all human beings equal) and taught me not to be afraid, not to be intimidated, the root of which is Punjabiyat. I will continue to work hard. I and my team will soon be back bigger and stronger. Waheguru please have mercy. sarbat da bhala
