Congress dividing women on caste lines, says PM Modi in Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Chhattisgarh, launched a scathing attack on the ruling party in the state, accusing them of creating divisions among women based on their caste affiliations.

Additionally, he indirectly criticized the Congress, which had expressed concerns about the absence of an OBC sub-quota, by praising the women’s reservation law as a groundbreaking legislative achievement with long-lasting implications.

He asserted that his government, under his leadership, had fulfilled another long-standing promise by enacting a law that had been delayed for the past 30 years.

PM Modi announced, “Our government has fulfilled yet another commitment we made to the people. With the enactment of the women’s reservation law, 33 percent of seats in both the Lok Sabha and state legislatures will now be reserved for women. The Nari Shakti Adhiniyam has become a reality under BJP rule,” he emphasized while addressing the ‘Parivartan Maha Sankalp Rally’ in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.

He further noted that President Droupadi Murmu had recently signed the law into effect, highlighting that the opposition’s concerns stemmed from the legislation’s unifying effect on women and their heightened awareness of their rights.

PM Modi stated, “The Congress and its allies are perturbed and dismayed by the passage of this legislation in both Houses of Parliament. Their primary concern is the electoral consequences, fearing that women will shower their blessings on Modi.

“In light of the unity and awareness this law has fostered among our women, the opposition is now attempting to divide them along caste lines. This is nothing more than a political ploy,” he remarked, urging women not to be swayed by the opposition’s falsehoods.

Furthermore, PM Modi contrasted the allocation of only Rs 300 crores for railways in Chhattisgarh during the previous Congress regime with the current allocation of Rs 6000 crores, showcasing it as the ‘Modi Model’ and a symbol of his commitment to the state’s development.
