Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been on a three-day visit to Delhi. Along with him, State Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra were also present in Delhi. During the Delhi visit, Gehlot met Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday and discussed Rajasthan’s strategy. Prior to this, on Monday evening, Gehlot, along with Venugopal, Rajasthan Congress in-charge Randhawa, and Dotasra, had a marathon meeting for about 4 hours. Ajay Maken also had a meeting with Gehlot.
According to information, deliberations were held on about 120 tickets from Rajasthan in Delhi. The first list contains more than 45 names. It is likely to be released around 20 October. Before that, the State Election Committee will hold a meeting on 13 or 14 October, in which a formal proposal will be passed that the final decision on ticket distribution will remain with the high command.
According to sources, Alakh Alok has given Ashok Gehlot a “free hand” in ticket distribution to repeat the Congress government. The responsibility of distributing more than 135 tickets will remain with Gehlot, allowing him to give tickets to the candidates he deems suitable.
