According to reports, ED officials conducted searches on the premises of film production company Lyca in Chennai on Tuesday. Searches were being conducted in various locations throughout the city, according to a report by PTI.
The production company did not respond immediately to the raids. Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2 were box office successes for Lyca. According to reports, searches were underway at around 8 locations in Chennai after the central investigation agency filed a money laundering case against the production company.
Subaskaran Allirajah founded Lyca Productions in 2014. The production studio, a subgroup of Lycamobile, has been involved in the production and distribution of South Indian films.
Previously, the ED stated that it conducted searches at 21 locations in Delhi and Gurugram in connection with Amira Pure Foods Private Limited, Karan A Chanana, and others in accordance with the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
