CHANDIGARH HEALTH DEPT ISSUES NOTIFICATION TO PUBLIC AMID BAD BEHAVIOUR WITH VECTOR STAFF

Chandigarh is known to be a city of educated people. But these days, the people residing in the city are not adhering to guidelines pertaining to cleanliness and also have forgotten to behave. In lieu of the same, the health department of Chandigarh, on Wednesday, to issue a notification to the public to behave appropriately with the Vector Inspection staff.

So far Chandigarh has reported 232 dengue cases. Chandigarh Health department has issued 322 show-cause notices, as many as 424 Challans to the city residents not adhering to the norms.

The Notification says, “It has been observed that some of the owners/occupants of the premises are objecting or misbehaving with the staff of the Health Department at the time of inspections. In some cases, the security staff posted at the entry gates of the premises are not allowing the Staff to enter the premises for inspections. All the residents are requested to extend their full support to the visiting staff and contribute to their efforts of controlling vector-borne diseases.”

“To address the security-related concern,” the notification stated that “the protocol of frisking, etc may be completed while allowing entry in the premises and a representative may remain with staff during the whole process of inspection/spraying, etc.”

“It is pertinent to mention here that even the Raj Bhawan of Punjab, Raj Bhawan of Haryana, UT Secretariat, Residence of Adviser to Administrator UT, Residence of DGP-UT, etc have been regularly inspected by the staff of Health Department, and appropriate actions were taken in each of the cases based on inspection reports,” the notification added.
