Champai Soren Plans New Party, Promises Tribal Uplift for 2024 Jharkhand Elections

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and former Chief Minister Champai Soren has pledged to work towards uplifting the tribal and poor communities in Jharkhand. Speaking at a gathering in Seraikela Kharsawan, Soren vowed to bring significant changes to the state, aiming to boost prosperity and enhance the status of its people on the national stage.

“In the coming days, I will work for the tribal and poor people in such a way that I will give a new identity to Jharkhand in the country. I will work for the prosperity and respect of the people of Jharkhand,” Soren asserted, emphasizing his dedication to the state’s development.

Recently, Soren hinted at starting a new political party but clarified on Friday that he bears no grudge against his former organization. He revealed that the decision to form a new party came after thousands of workers from across Jharkhand reached out to him, expressing interest in joining forces. He also mentioned that if a suitable ally is found before the upcoming elections, a partnership would be considered.

“We have started our journey alone; we have no ill will towards the organization. New chapters will be added to it, and we will move our political steps forward with strength. Thousands of workers from different areas of the state contacted me and expressed their desire to work together. That is why we have decided to form an organization. If we find a good ally before the elections, we will also form a friendship with that ally,” Soren stated.

On Thursday, Soren had announced plans to form a new organization and actively participate in Jharkhand’s political arena once again. He expressed optimism about the public’s response to his recent tours of various districts, including Seraikela and Chaibasa. During the second day of his tour, Soren stated that everything was progressing well and that the public was joining his movement.

“Today, I visited three districts, including Seraikela and Chaibasa. It was the second day of the tour of my new chapter. Everything is going well, the public is joining us. I will actively enter Jharkhand politics again. I will form an organization and try to make friends in the way before the Assembly elections…I will reveal everything within a week. When I have started a new chapter, I can only stay in one place. I will reveal everything after a week,” he said.

As Jharkhand gears up for its Assembly elections in 2024, Champai Soren’s return to active politics could significantly impact the political landscape. His plans to form a new organization and possibly align with an ally are being closely watched, with potential implications for the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, the BJP has fully prepared to challenge the current government as the political climate in the state intensifies.
