The World Gatka Federation has taken a significant step at the global level with the support of India’s oldest registered Gatka organization, the National Gatka Association of India. They have appointed Mr Harjeet Singh Grewal and Dr. Deep Singh, as Chairman and Secretary-General, respectively, of the Directorate for their international affairs. The primary aim of this international directorate is to establish Gatka as a recognized sport worldwide. They stated that by forming national Gatka federations in various countries, they aim to achieve this goal, which will strengthen the foundation of this ancient sport’s comprehensive development. Congratulating Mr Fool Raj Singh on his new responsibilities, they said that this directorate will also provide training and coaching facilities for athletes in foreign countries and make the Gatka teams of various countries more active in prestigious competitions like the Asian and Commonwealth Gatka Championships before the World Gatka Championship.
