Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told Rajya Sabha that the Centre has conducted a survey of 210 ‘jhuggi’ clusters in Delhi. Furthermore, he said, jhuggis built before January 2006 aren’t supposed to be destroyed without offering inhabitants alternate housing. However, any jhuggi that came up after 2015 will be immediately removed without offering an alternate house to live in.
