CBSE Class 12th Physics Exam: Students say exam difficult and lengthy

Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE board exams for 2024 started on February 15 and the Class 12 Physics exam was held on March 4. Students complained that the long questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the Physics paper were challenging and lengthy.

Parth from Cambridge School in Noida stated, “Overall, the Physics paper was at a harder level than I thought it would be.”

Yukta from Bal Bharti School states, “It was easier than the sample paper.”
The physics paper this year was comparable to the sample paper. The Bal Bharti School’s Swati claims that the 2023 paper was simpler than the one from this year.

The MCQs were challenging. She continued, “There were several questions that I thought were difficult and there were no options.

The paper was quite long. A timer to edit the work was absent, according to Divyanshi from Bal Bharti Public School.

“Compared to the sample paper, it was a little bit harder. The MCQs and Section C were the most difficult in the derivations,” she continued.

Another student from Bal Bharti expressed, “The Class 12 Physics exam was challenging and featured questions that hadn’t been included in previous years, such as the resistance coefficient.”

She mentioned that derivations were based on recurring questions, and the five-mark questions were comparatively easier. The student noted that the paper was more difficult than both the sample paper and practice papers, with particularly tough multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Another student, Nidhi from Bal Bharti School, commented, “While derivations were manageable, numerous numerical problems were included.”

Shampa Chakraborty, a senior Physics teacher at Hariyana Vidya Mandir Kolkata, observed, “The CBSE Class 12 Physics sample paper was difficult this year, and the actual exam matched that level of difficulty.” She described, “The paper as moderate to difficult.”
