Car theft case resolved in Phagwara; suspect arrested

The district police have arrested the culprits while resolving the case of the stolen Corolla car in Phagwara from the past days. Under the campaign against narcotics in Phagwara, the district police have also apprehended a drug trafficker with 38 grams of heroin. Providing information, SSP Vatsala Gupta mentioned that on the night of December 15, Tarlochan Singh, a resident of Phagwara, went to the market to make a purchase in his Corolla car around 9:30 PM. When he arrived at the spot where his car was parked, it had been stolen. In connection with this incident, the city police station in Phagwara registered a case, and under the leadership of SSP Phagwara Gurpreet Singh, DSP Jaspreet Singh, SHO Narcotics Cell Gaurav Dhir, and Bisman Singh, police teams were prepared, and the operation commenced.

The SSP stated that during the investigation with various technical and scientific aspects, the police succeeded when the accused, Indrajit alias Indar, a resident of Ram Pura, Thana Rampuraphul, District Bathinda, presently residing in Mohalla Bhaktapur, Thana Satnamapura Phagwara, was arrested. The police have taken the accused, along with the car, into custody and remanded him. Further action is being taken. He revealed that the accused, Indrajit, disclosed during the preliminary investigation that on December 15, he broke the window of a Swift car parked in front of the bus stand and stole Rs. 35,000 and other items. Further action is being taken in this regard.

SSP Vatsala Gupta mentioned that under the supervision of SI Darshan Singh of City Phagwara Police Station, the police party arrested Harpreet Singh alias Sītu, a resident of Khalwara Gate, based on suspicion and recovered 38 grams of heroin and an electronic device from him. She said that the suspects would be presented in court to obtain police remand.”
