West Bengal Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari expressed his disappointment over the law and order situation in the state adding that the Border Security Force has increased its jurisdiction to 50 km to counter and neutralise terrorists.
Speaking at the 108 Shiva Temple in Burdwan on Monday, Adhikari said: “Infiltrators are coming and changing the law and order of our country. The country’s population is changing. These intruders are dangerous for the country. They are changing the population and the law and order situation has worsened. Action should be taken against all intruders. With this in mind, the BSF has increased its jurisdiction to 50 km.”
He added: “Now people understand why the BSF space has been increased. The rationale for this is that jihadists and militants are being caught every day.”
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kashi Bishwanath Dham Corridor in Varanasi. To make the day memorable, the BJP offered prayers to Lord Shiva in every state today. West Bengal was not left out either. The BJP organised a programme at 108 Shiva Temple in Burdwan.
