BJP’s Shahnawaz Hussain raises Tricolour in Mehbooba’s hometown

SRINAGAR: BJP national general secretary Syed Shahnawaz Hussain hoisted tricolour in Bijbehera town of South Kashmir, the home town of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. “Some people tried to block my visit. A grenade was lobbed earlier in the day. This Bihari is here in Bijbehara town hoisting tricolour,”

Shahnawaz Hussain said in the town hall of Bijbehara along with the activists of BJP and local leaders.

It is in place to mention that as Chief Minister of J&K heading the PDP-BJP coalition government, Mehbooba Mufti has warned the Centre not to tamper with the special status and claimed if it is done no one will be in Kashmir to hold the tricolour.

Speaking to the BJP workers in Bijbehara town, where in the morning a CRPF jawan was injured when a grenade was hurled, Shahnawaz Hussain said that Kashmiris respect tri-colour and have a lot of love for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Continuing the attack on the PAGD leadership, Shahnawaz Hussain said that it seems from their statement and from their political behaviour that they are working at the behest of someone else, a subtle reference to Pakistan.

Meanwhile PAGD president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday wrote a letter to SEC K.K. Sharma, demanding re-polling in the Guroora Bandipora booth.

Farooq in the letter said that it is a matter of great concern that there was an incident of booth capturing and subsequent bogus voting. He also mentioned in the letter, “Incidents of unwarranted  interference from many areas of Kashmir in the polling held on 16th of December.

He mentioned a village of Shopian in the letter where according to him voters were forcefully stopped from casting their votes”.
