The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to hold a “Silent March” across the state of Uttar Pradesh today to pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the partition of the country. Interestingly, the saffron party celebrates August 14 as Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day.
Speaking about the preparedness of the impending event, BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary said, “Clear instructions have been given to party workers to make the “Silent March” a huge success”. The BJP state president further said that the party will go to the people at the district level through a film related to the partition of the country. This is an unfortunate day in the history of India. The history and geography of India was divided on this day. A large number of people had lost their lives on this day.
Chaudhary also blamed former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the partition of the country and said that it led to riots and arson taking place across the country.
He said, “Congress had surrendered before the Muslim League. Scores of Hindus were killed in East Bengal. The Communist Party too had supported the Muslim League’s demand for partition and that the Congress is the successor of the British”.
On Bhimrao Ambedkar, the BJP state president said that he did not like the partition of the country.
