BJP OBC morcha protests against Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, burns effigy

Members of the OBC Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), staged a protest in vehement opposition to Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, culminating in the burning of Rahul Gandhi’s effigy. The protest, led by Sunil Prajapati, President of BJP OBC Morcha, condemned Gandhi’s alleged misleading comments regarding PM Modi’s OBC status.

Sunil Prajapati, addressing the gathering during the protest, vehemently criticized Rahul Gandhi for his disparaging statements towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that such remarks were not only disrespectful but also reflective of Gandhi’s disregard for democratic institutions. Prajapati accused Gandhi of consistently undermining constitutional authorities and insulting individuals outside the Gandhi family circle, both domestically and internationally.

Prajapati highlighted the historical neglect of the OBC community by the Congress party, alleging that Congress-National Conference coalition governments in Jammu & Kashmir had previously denied reservation benefits to OBCs despite their implementation nationwide in 1993. He credited the Modi government for rectifying this disparity by enacting the J&K Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023, thereby extending reservation privileges to OBCs in the region for the first time.

Furthermore, Prajapati emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities to all communities, including the OBCs, and accused the Congress of propagating falsehoods by insinuating that PM Modi does not belong to the OBC category. The BJP OBC Morcha demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his purportedly derogatory remarks.

The protest demonstration saw the participation of several prominent BJP members, including Raj Kumar Tarkhan (General Secretary OBC Morcha), Suresh Salgotra (Vice President OBC Morcha), Ravi Mehra (Vice President OBC Morcha), Kewal Verma (Secretary OBC Morcha), Purshottam Kumar (Social Media Secretary OBC Morcha), Ashok Salgotra (District President Jammu OBC Morcha), and Ram Pal (District President OBC Morcha Jammu South), along with numerous BJP workers.
