BJP ACCUSE ‘TMC GOONS’ OF BEATING A PARTY WORKER TO DEATH

KOLKATA: On Sunday, BJP alleged that one of its workers was beaten to death by Trinamool Congress (TMC) ‘goons’ at West Bengal’s East Midnapore district on Saturday night.

Bhaskar Bera, the slain, had participated in idol immersion ceremony on Saturday. Bera was allegedly called to a secluded place in Bhagabanpur in East Midnapore district, where he was beaten to death, sources said. The death of the BJP worker follows just a few days after another party worker was murdered in the area earlier this month. Kanthi Organizing District General Secretary (BJP) Asim Mishra said, “Trinamool has started blood politics in Bhagwanpur. The party has brutally murdered BJP activists and supporters. A few days ago, after beating a BJP worker to death, another worker was taken away from the procession and killed. One mother lost her child. Where does it end? ”

However, the Trinamool Congress has denied the charges. TMC leader Tarun Jana claimed that these allegations are utterly and that the party was not behind the BJP worker’s murder.

“We don’t believe in blood politics,” Jana said.

Anup Chakraborty, a BJP leader, alleged that the TMC can’t “digest BJP’s win” in Bhagabanpur assembly seat. He claimed that the TMC was trying to “create fear among BJP workers”.

Amarnath K, police superintendent of East Midnapore, said, “We have started the probe already, and can’t reveal much details at this point. We have also increased number of police personnel in the area.”
