Bihar SIT team hands over ‘startling findings’

The death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has escalated a turf war between Bihar and Mumbai Police with the former’s SIT team returning from Mumbai and handing a 70-page report with “startling findings.” The DGP of Bihar police, Gupteshwar Pandey, refused to divulge further details on the findings of the SIT but lamented that the behaviour of Mumbai Police was “extremely unprofessional.”

It is learnt that the 70- page document of the findings of Patna police has statements of at least 6 people who were interrogated at length by the SIT team and the report speaks volumes about the case indicating that its “not an open and shut case of plain suicide.”

A senior official also hinted on conditions of anonymity that the alleged suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput had connections with the mysterious death of Disha Salian. But the officer refused to divulge any further details on the same.

The DGP indicated that the SIT could conduct investigations just for three days in the case and after that their investigations drastically got hampered from lack of cooperation of the Mumbai police. Subsequently the DGP informed that the SIT team too had to move to undisclosed location and that there was attempt on the part of the Mumbai police and the BMC to locate these officials and the Patna SSP was even asked about their whereabouts but the Patna SSP did not disclose their locations. Once the IPS officer from Patna was quarantined against his will and the SIT team subsequently returned to Patna and had long sessions with their senior officials including Patna IG Sanjay Singh and the Patna SSP.

CBI team has already registered a case into the matter and is likely to visit Patna soon and may question the officials who were associated with the investigation of the case in Mumbai.

The Bihar DGP also indicated that the Mumbai police was acting unprofessionally right from the beginning and that did not even seal and contain the crime-scene.

Rather vital piece of evidence could have been destroyed as various people freely entered the scene of crime. This raises doubts on the intent as well as the professionalism of Mumbai police. On Wednesday also the DGP had hinted that there is something fishy in the case. Possibly the Bihar SIT has collected various corroborative evidence in the case along with circumstantial and scientific evidence and the same is now to be handed over to the CBI.
