Bihar: Clashes erupt during Mahaviri Yatra on Nag Panchami in Motihari

During a Mahaviri Yatra flag march in the Motihari district of Bihar on the occasion of Nag Panchami, fights broke out between two groups. Numerous individuals, including police officers, were hurt during the Monday clashes, according to the police.

According to early reports, bricks and stones were thrown at the procession’s participants as it traveled peacefully from Pipra village to Pachhiyari Tola. According to reports, the incident also injured Dharmendra Yadav, the SHO of the Darpa Police Station.

“Force and Magistrate are present everywhere. It is peaceful now. We are keeping an eye. I request everybody to participate in the Mahaviri Yatra peacefully,” Nand Parsad, SDPO said.
Police said the situation has calmed down now.
Clashes are also reported from Darpa, Mehsi and Kalyanpur areas of the district.
