Dengue cases in Bhubaneswar have dramatically increased, with up to 15 patients being hospitalized to Capital Hospital in this city.
Out of 700 testing samples of fever, about 70 to 80 patients have dengue testing results that are positive.
Laxmidhar Sahoo, director of Capital Hospital, told the sources on Tuesday that 65 dengue patients are currently occupying the hospital’s beds. Every year, we maintain 10 to 15 beds aside for dengue patients, but this time, there are more available due to the high patient volume.
“Every day, we are testing around 700 samples of fever out of them 70-80 patients are tested dengue positive and 15-20 people get admission in Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar,” Sahoo said to ANI on Tuesday.
Sahoo added that, the large number of dengue cases are putting pressure on the Capital Hospital. We have asked the state government to increase bed facilities and also increased three lab technicians for testing from today.
