The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a sardonic stance while addressing Sonia Gandhi’s nomination for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Rajasthan.
BJP State President CP Joshi remarked that while Sonia Gandhi’s nomination is an internal matter for the Congress party, it appears to signal a lack of trust in the leadership of Rajasthan. Consequently, the party has chosen to nominate Sonia Gandhi to fill the position.
Joshi further asserted that had the Congress Party performed well in the Lok Sabha elections, Sonia Gandhi might not have sought a Rajya Sabha seat. By opting for this route, he suggested, she has chosen the discreet backdoor entry to Parliament. “These circumstances raise questions about Sonia Gandhi’s political standing and health,” Joshi added.
The BJP expresses confidence in securing victory once again, aiming to claim all 25 seats in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Madan Rathore, the BJP’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha, arrived at the Assembly with senior BJP leaders to file his nomination papers. He criticised Sonia Gandhi’s nomination, stating that it would weaken the Congress party instead of strengthening it.
He also expressed confidence that the BJP’s performance in the Rajya Sabha elections would be better than before, and they would once again emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha.
