Congress veteran leader Mani Shankar Aiyar expressed his views on Indo-Pak dialogue at the JLF on Friday. He said, “There should have been dialogue on the Kashmir issue. India has the courage to conduct surgical strikes, but Pakistan lacks the courage to talk at the table.”
He mentioned that there had been discussions with former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on the Kashmir issue. He had four important suggestions for the resolution of the Kashmir matter. However, for some reason, no discussion took place on this issue. He said that India’s policy towards Pakistan is not clear. There has been no dialogue between India and Pakistan from 2014 to 2024. He added that Sonia Gandhi recommended him to write the autobiography, after which he realised that she did not want me to be engaged in political life. Aiyar said, “Perhaps only Ajit Doval and Pakistan’s Qamar Javed Bajwa. had some discussions on the issue of Pakistan. In this, they reached a decision that there should be no firing on the ceasefire line. This was a good thing. A solution could be found only When India talks to Pakistan. He said that terrorism and dialogue cannot happen simultaneously.”
