The Baramulla Police have taken a firm stance against drug sales by attaching a one-story home valued at about Rs15 lacs that belonged to a well-known drug dealer named Afroza Begum, popularly known as Affri. The wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Afroza Begum, currently resides in Trumgund Hygam Sopore, District Baramulla, and is a resident of Ganie Hamam.
The action, undertaken under sections 68-E and 68-F (1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985, is linked to case FIR No. 238/2023 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at PS Baramulla.
The police conducted investigations and inquiries and found that the property in question had been obtained unlawfully. The property was found to have been obtained by the accused drug dealer through the illegal trafficking of both psychotropic and narcotic drugs.
