Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma on Sunday said that the services of both banking and bankers play a very important in bringing the benefits of government schemes to common people. He said that even in adverse circumstances, bankers’ cooperation work wonder.
Whether it is Modi government’s Jan Dhan Yojana or Mudra loan, old age pension or other facilities provided by the government to the people, bankers always provide facilities by acting as a link between the government and the public, he added.
Along with this, Kartikeya Sharma said that banking facility and bankers together have made the dream of the PM Narendra Modi come true by eliminating corruption in government schemes. “People associated with banking facilities deserve congratulations for this,” the MP said.
Kartikeya Sharma was attending the 5th triennial conference organized by Punjab National Bank Staff Association Haryana as the chief guest.
Ambala Mayor Shaktirani Sharma also attended the conference as a special guest.
She said that she welcomes the bankers coming from all over the state to Ambala and the way unity has been maintained by the employees is definitely surprising. He congratulated the employees for the convention.
On the arrival of MP Kartikeya Sharma and Mayor Shaktirani Sharma in the programme, National General Secretary of the Association P.R. Mehta and Haryana State President of the Association, Naresh Bagri welcomed them by giving mementoes.
The speakers described MP Kartikeya Sharma as a comrade and said that the Sharma family has always been supportive of the association and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for participating in the program.
Kartikeya Sharma said that the Prime Minister, after assuming the command of the country, worked on the vision of Digital India. Banking facilities were changed. Various changes were made including online banking, UPI, and bankers and bank employees together made facilities available to the people by implementing the schemes of the government in a better way. “All this is the result of your hard work. At the same time, he said that working on the thinking of Modi, the employees associated with banking facilities played an important role in implementing the policies of public welfare like gas subsidy from DBT, payment of farmers’ crops, Mudra loan and worked to benefit the people.”
Kartikeya Sharma said that it is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thinking that under the Jan Dhan Yojana, bank employees working in collaboration with the government opened about 773 million accounts, whereas before 2015 the number of bank accounts was only 179 million. Out of this, 56 percent accounts were opened by women. 67 percent bank accounts were opened in rural areas.
MP Kartikeya Sharma said that there is no hesitation in saying that the picture of Indian banking has changed due to the vision of the Prime Minister Modi. “The whole of India is moving towards Navnirman.
Kartikeya Sharma added people are changing, so is the banking industry. The banks have to compete with the changing scenario.
MP Kartikeya Sharma said that Ambala is my family and I have always got the support of the people of that family. At the same time, he said, “PNB is my bank and for the last 30 years, we are taking all bank facilities from Punjab National Bank itself. He also expressed his gratitude to P.R. Mehta, who always struggled to address the demands and problems of the bank employees.
MP Kartikeya Sharma said that in 1895, Punjab National Bank, the first indigenous bank in India, was established by the great freedom fighter Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai and his associates. His thinking was that the bank should provide the best services to the people of India by dealing with all the challenges and even today all the employees of the bank are working on the same thinking and giving their support to benefit the people and fulfill their dream.
