Bangla Delegation In India For Friendly Dialogue

A Bangladesh delegation has gone to India to participate in the dialogue organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-India relations. The delegation, led by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, left Dhaka on Thursday. The tenth round of Bangladesh-India friendly dialogue will begin on Friday (18 February) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, foreign ministry sources said. In this dialogue, various aspects of bilateral relations will be reviewed.

The event is jointly organised by the Bangladesh Foundation for Regional Studies and India Foundation. Policymakers; diplomats and experts from both countries will attend the event. The two-day dialogue will focus on trade, investment, connectivity, technology, energy, regional security, extremism, sustainable development through increased people-to-people contacts. Participants will discuss ways to further strengthen ties between the two countries. A 36-member delegation from Bangladesh led by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs is participating in the dialogue. The delegation includes Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Cultural Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, International Affairs Secretary Shammi Ahmed, Deputy Minister of Education Barrister Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, former Foreign Secretary Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, former High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India Tareq A. Karim, etc.
