Army congratulates Neeraj Chopra on winning India’s first-ever gold medal at World Athletic Championships

Subedar Neeraj Chopra receives congratulations from the Indian Army for winning the gold medal in the men’s javelin event at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest with a throw of 88.17 meters.
Neeraj Chopra, an Olympic medallist from India, made history early on Monday when he won his nation’s first-ever gold medal at the World Athletics Championships by narrowly defeating Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem by less than a meter in Budapest’s men’s javelin throw final. In his second effort, Neeraj threw 88.17 meters, which was his greatest throw, and he was able to maintain his lead all the way to the finish line.
