Apple To Roll Out Indian-Centric Features For iPhones In An Upcoming iOS 18

With the upcoming release of iOS 18, Apple is going to launch some Indian-centric features for iPhone users.

Even though the new operating system unveiled at WWDC 2024 event promises loads of exciting new features, but this time, they have made special additions solely for Indian users.

One of the coolest features, which is going to launch by apple is the support for numerals in 12 Indian languages.

In iOS 18, Indian users will be able to Personalize their contact posters and lock screens using numbers from languages like Arabic, Arabic Indic, Bangla, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Meitei, Odia, Ol Chiki, and Telugu.

Thus, providing customized and culturally relevant experience to users. Beside numeral support, iOS 18 is set to include features like live voicemail transcription for Indian English.

In this feature, iphones will transcribe voicemails in real time, thus making it convenient for users to understand the messages.

In order to identify incoming calls easily, a support will be provided for live caller ID.

Accommodating those who utilize dual SIM cards, the iPhone premium company has made some additions. Since the launch of iphone 11, apple supports dual SIM Cards with two slots- Physical Sim Slots and eSIM.

But in iOS 18, Apple has launched a dedicated SIM swtich button inside the revamped control center. This addition will let users switch between two numbers quickly. Thus, making experience ideal for users.

Siri To Understand Indian Languages

Making a major upgrade in Apple’s virtual assistant Siri at iOS 18, Siri will now understand Indian English accompanied with local languages like Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Thus, making interactions with Siri more natural and effective for users.

Additional Features Launched For Indian Users

Making iOS 18 more Indian-friendly, the translation app now supports Hindi and enables system-wide translation, including within the Safari web browser and Notes app, facilitating easier navigation and communication in users’ chosen language.

Not just that, iOS 18 will also include support for alphabetical layouts for 11 languages spoken in India, which include Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Thus, helping users in organizing and typing their content in their own preferred language.

Moreover, the enhanced language search capabilities will also be available in Assamese, Bangla, Devanagari, and Gujarati.

When Will It Be Launched?

As for the date, iOS 18 will be launched later this year. This device will offer Indian users a culturally relevant, personalized, and a convenient experience.
