Four elephants wandering around farmlands in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district died Friday morning in what was suspected to be an electrocution.
The cause of death is being investigated by the state forest department. According to forest officials, three of the dead elephants were large. The forest department has been trying for several years to return elephants to the wild, but has had little success.
