Amid strike, exceptional sanitation workers acknowledged for dedication

Despite the ongoing strike of sanitation workers in favour of their demands from past two months there are some people from the group who still continue to work with honesty and dedication. Recognizing their commitment, the Municipal Commissioner honoured them by calling them to the office.
The Municipal Commissioner praised all the sanitation workers who consistently perform in their department and stated that when such dedicated employees remain in the department, Gurugram will be among the cleanest cities in the country. Whenever such participatory efforts by sanitation workers are observed, the department will continue to acknowledge them in a similar manner. Sanitation workers play a crucial role in the municipal department.
According to the Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, during the strike where thousands of sanitation workers were protesting, there were more than 60 workers who continued their work diligently. When the Municipal Commissioner became aware of this, he considered honoring such workers and called them to his office. The Joint Commissioner mentioned that regular salaries were also provided to the sanitation workers who went on strike, while the salaries of those who continued working during the strike were halted. The department had informed the sanitation workers about halting salaries under the “No Work No Pay” policy during the strike.
For the past two months, thousands of sanitation workers of the municipal corporation have been on strike, completely halting the city’s sanitation work in pursuit of their demands. Yet, there are some sanitation workers who, even during the strike, continued their work with complete honesty and dedication.
Currently, despite thousands of sanitation workers still on strike, municipal authorities have repeatedly urged them to end the strike through discussions. However, the sanitation workers remain steadfast in their demands. It remains to be seen how long the sanitation workers’ strike will persist.
