The case of demanding 10 lakh rupees through a honey trap from an elderly person in a village under the jurisdiction of Titram police station in Kaithal has taken a new turn. The complainant revealed the involvement of a female Sub-Inspector of the City Police Station in the honey trap. Allegations suggest that the female Sub-Inspector called the complainant and threatened that if they didn’t quietly give the money, they would end up behind bars. Moreover, in the complaint, to facilitate the arrest of the culprits while paying the money, the complainant wrote a complaint in the name of an SP. This complaint included the names of the accused, Ruma, Raju, and even the husband of the female Sub-Inspector.
To take action against the accused, a raiding party was prepared under the instructions of the SP. The in-charge of the raiding party was made Inspector Rekha of the Women’s Police Station. However, after the raid, the police only showed the names of accused Ruma and Raju in the police complaint. Consequently, the case has been registered only against accused Ruma and Raju. The complainant alleges that the in-charge of the raiding party excluded her name from the complaint without her consent, despite pressure being exerted on her by the female police Sub-Inspector over the phone. This has brought the entire case under suspicion. Recent incidents involving honey traps had also implicated the officer-in-charge of Sangatpura police station two weeks ago.
