Prior to the start of the Special Session of Parliament tomorrow, an all-party meeting got underway in the Parliament Library building. To attend the all-party meeting in the nation’s capital, Union Minister Rajnath Singh and representatives from the opposition parties arrived. Farooq Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and leader of the National Conference, Vaiko, Tiruchi N Siva, and V Sivadasan, the head of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), also arrived to attend the meeting that the government had called.
Earlier on Wednesday, Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, announced that the floor leaders of all parties would meet on September 17, the day before the five-day Special Session of Parliament is scheduled to begin. It will be held from September 18 to September 22. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced on social media platform X that “an all-party floor leaders meeting has been convened on the 17th at 4.30 PM, ahead of the parliament session from the 18th of this month.”
“The invitation for the same has been sent to concerned leaders through email. Letter to follow,” he added.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament, which concluded last month, was held in the old Parliament building.
The Special Session will see a discussion on Parliament’s 75-year journey, starting from the Samvidhan Sabha that first met on December 9, 1946.
