Yesterday, three criminals were arrested from Dehradun in connection with the Ajay Jhamari murder case. The accused engaged in a gunfight with the police after entering Bharatpur, snatching a police officer’s pistol during the confrontation, and fleeing. During the exchange of fire, all three criminals were injured and subsequently admitted to the hospital.
According to Inspector General Rupinder Singh, on August 27, Tejveer Jat, along with his associates, shot and killed Ajay Jhamri on Circular Road. A case was registered at Atalband Police Station regarding the incident. To apprehend the suspects, a police team led by SP Mukesh Kumar and supervised by Additional SP Bhupendra Sharma, along with the City and Rural COs of Bharatpur, formed various teams and collected information about their possible locations simultaneously.
As per the information gathered through the intelligence network, the DST personnel arrested Tejveer, Mukesh, and Bunty from Dehradun. Upon their entry into Bharatpur, during the confrontation, Tejveer Jat attempted to snatch the pistol from Constable Jagdish. In self-defence, a retaliatory firing ensued, during which all three criminals sustained injuries. The injured were taken into custody and subsequently admitted to the hospital.
Cases have been registered at Udyog Nagar Police Station for this incident as well as for the murder of Ajay Jhamari.
