According to Union health ministry data, India’s COVID-19 caseload increased to 4,46,45,768 on Wednesday, with 830 new infections, the lowest single-day increase in 197 days, while the number of active cases decreased to 21,607, bringing the total to 4,46,45,768.
The death toll from the viral disease has risen to 5,28,981 with one new fatality, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
Active cases account for 0.05 percent of total infections. According to the ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.77%.
In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 942 cases.
According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.67 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.05 percent. The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has risen to 4,40,95,180, with a case fatality rate of 1.18 percent, according to the report.
According to the ministry, 219.57 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.
India passed the two crore mark on May 4, last year, three crore on June 23, and four crore on January 25, this year.
