Raising the alarm about the increasing air pollution, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken some staunch measures, including the halt of construction activities from November 14 to November 17, that may hinder the developmental works in Delhi without hitting at some of the major causes of air pollution.
Taking a dig at such a step, BJP leader, Mohan Singh Bisht, said, “After getting notice from the court, Delhi Government has taken some action. The Delhi government is not concerned about the major sources of pollution. Currently, they are raising some concerns about stubble burning, but before that, they didn’t take any step. Presently, by stopping construction sites, the Delhi government is hindering the developmental works that are required in Delhi. The party has already wasted crores of rupees.”
During a press conference on Sunday, AAP Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, expressed that in the coming days, the pollution level might worsen. To address the problems of air pollution, Delhi Government had announced the closure of schools, colleges, educational institutions till November 20. However, educational institutes carrying out their examination schedule were exempted from the order. The government offices, corporation sectors would be closed till November 17 and the employees had been asked to work from their homes.
The same had been advised for the private sector.
