AAP announces recruitment drive for eligible youth in Punjab

After completing the 50 days of the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) governance in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced a massive recruitment drive for all the eligible candidates to fill up 26,454 posts in various departments. The drive was announced on Thursday and it aims to provide jobs to all eligible candidates based on their educational qualifications.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has also affirmed that there will be no place for bribes or recommendations in this recruitment drive and the procedure for the recruitment of the jobs will be conducted in a completely transparent and fair manner. In a video message, Mann said that the state government had already published a full advertisement in the newspapers, detailing the number of openings, the hiring agency, and connections to departmental websites for recruitment information to help candidates. The advertisement for the vacancies in 25 departments also includes agriculture, excise and taxation, finance, police, revenue, and water resources. He has also promised that the state government will soon open several job opportunities for youth. The state government is also working on creating more government and private job opportunities for youth to ensure them better livelihood and dignity. He also stated that during the budget session of Vidhan Sabha, he had mentioned various pro-people initiatives that are most likely to be announced in the general budget for 2022-23.

On Monday, the Punjab cabinet approved recruitment in 26,000 posts in different government sectors. When the AAP won the state in March, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann promised to fill 25,000 vacancies in various sectors.

During the Punjab elections, Mann had stated that the process of advertising and notification for these posts would begin within a month.
