On behalf of Aaftab Amin Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case a plea has been filed in Saket Court for releasing his debit and credit cards from the custody of Delhi Police.
Meanwhile, seeking the release of the cards advocate MS Khan before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla application was moved.
The judicial custody of Aftab Amin Poonawala has been extended four days and on 10 January Aaftab will be produced in court physically. For the next day, the application has been kept pending.
Since 9 November 2022, the plea has been submitted that the accused has no money to buy clothes for the winter season.
Earlier on 23 December 2022 Delhi police got permission to seek a voice sample of Aftab.
“True, a fair trial is the right of the accused but it is also true that fair investigation is also required in the larger public interest as the offense cannot escape and crime cannot go unnoticed merely because the accused is not ready to aid in the investigation,” Metropolitan Magistrate Vijayshree Rathore of Saket court said.
Meanwhile, through video conferencing, Aftab was produced during the hearing.
However, Aaftab killed her live-in partner Shraddha and in 35 pieces Aaftab chopped her body. Based on his confession he was arrested in November and on 9 December Aaftab was produced before a court via video conferencing and for 14 days his judicial custody was extended.
