In a horrifying event, a man (38) who had doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire died from burns. The event took place near the police station in Jigani, close to Hebbagodi. Ratesh attempted suicide on August 25 after an argument with his wife Kavitha.
Reportedly, the police present in the station managed to quench the fire and shifted the man to the hospital.
The couple had been married for ten years. For the last five years, they have been indulging in arguments over petty issues, leading to the suicide of the husband. According to reports, the victim and his wife had an argument on August 25. As a consequence of her frustration, Kavitha allegedly called her father and went to the Jigani police station to lodge a complaint against her husband.
Ratesh went to the police station with his wife. He made an attempt at suicide after leaving his bike parked in front of the police station. The victim was connected to a private business in the Jigani Industrial area and was from Chikkamagaluru.
