5 apps to keep you fit and healthy in Covid times

The Covid-19 pandemic threatens to disrupt the world as nothing else, and as never before. People are forced to keep themselves confined at homes, going out of the house only when there’s no way to avoid it. Malls and theatres are still closed and schools don’t seem to be opening anytime soon. And the only way to survive the pandemic is to keep oneself immune and to follow a healthy lifestyle and maintain personal hygiene.

In these trying times, technology has come to our rescue. There are several apps that can be downloaded on your smartphone that can help you lead a healthy lifestyle. These apps will tell their users ways and means to boost their immunity, thus being better prepared to deal with the pandemic. So, here’s our list of five best health apps to help you successfully wade through the Covid-19 pandemic:

AAROGYA SETU

The app helps identify possible corona-positive patients, Covid-19 hotspots and share necessary precautions one can take in these trying times. The app has options such as Your Status, Self-Assess, and Covid-19 updates. While Your Status tells if the person is infected or not, Self-Assess helps in doing self-diagnose by answering questions. Covid-19 updates help you track the current cases.

HEALTHTAP

This app provides immediate access to — and assistance from — more than 1 lakh American doctors. The user can get advice and treatment round the clock. All one needs to do is to ask a question from doctors and receive answers, usually within a day. One can consult a doctor in real-time by video, voice, or chat; this, however, is a paid service.

TOTAL HEALTH CARE

This app aims to help users deal with and overcome their health-related issues and problems. Total Health care is also useful finding solutions to day-to-day ailments such as skin problems, hair-related issues or even weight loss. Users can also make or follow their own routine and the app promises to provide you with quick, easy-to-follow remedies.

HEALTH DIET FOODS FITNESS HELP

As the name suggests, this app guides on eating right to stay fit. It provides good-food tips to deal with common diseases and ailments – from digestion and metabolism-related problems to anaemia and celiac disease to diabetes and BP issues. Through the app, one can consult a dietician and get a personalised diet plan chart. There is also an option to contact dieticians for queries or online consultation.

GOQII: PREVENTIVE HEALTHCARE

Claiming to be India’s first health OTT platform, it provides live videos by experts on health, nutrition, exercise, yoga and even meditation. The app also has GOQii Doctor through which one can directly consult physicians. One can find a lot of health-related products and services on GOQii Health Store.
