32 Haryana cities under dense fog, orange alert issued

In Haryana, an intense spell of severe cold has enveloped 32 cities in thick, persistent fog. Responding to this weather phenomenon, the Meteorological Department has taken an unprecedented step by issuing an orange alert across these areas, marking the first instance of such a warning this season.

According to the Meteorological Department, Bahadurgarh, Sampla, Rohtak, Hisar, Narnaund, Fatehabad, Kharkhoda, Sonipat, Ganaur, Samalkha, Bapauli, Gharaunda, Karnal, Indri, Gohana, Julana, Israna, Safidon, Jind, Panipat, Assandh, Kaithal, Nilokheri, There is dense fog in Narwana, Tohana, Kalayat, Ratia, Thanesar, Guhla, Pehowa, Shahabad.Orange alert of dense to very dense fog will continue from today till December 27.

Weather experts say that people traveling by vehicles in these districts need to be more alert in the morning and evening. Today it will be cloudy in some districts, and the Meteorological Department has also predicted drizzle. After this, once again there are chances of rain from 26th December.Meteorologists forecast a sustained spell of cold weather persisting across the state, anticipating a rise in daytime temperatures and a decline during the nights.

Sunday marked a noticeable uptick of 1.1 degrees in the day temperatures recorded statewide. The presence of dew continues to be observed during the mornings and evenings.Agricultural experts emphasize concerns regarding potential hazards to the mustard crop if the fog intensifies further during winter.

They highlight the likelihood of pest infestations during this season, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and care among farmers. The prevalence of fog contributes to a drop in night and morning temperatures, which is advantageous for the Rabi crop. This favorable condition augurs well for the crop’s germination, promising positive outcomes for farmers. They assert that the current weather, with almost favorable daytime temperatures, is beneficial for farming activities at this juncture. Particularly, crops like gram, wheat, peas, potatoes, and tomatoes are expected to reap significant advantages from the prevailing winter conditions.
