In the 2022 Morbi suspension bridge collapse case, a 1,262-page chargesheet was filed on Friday. In the incident, 134 people lost their lives.
Meanwhile, an arrest warrant has been issued by a Gujarat court against Jaysukh Patel of the Oreva Group.
Earlier on 30 October in Morbi, the bridge collapsed and 134 people were killed.
Moreover, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Morbi, MJ Khan issued an arrest warrant on Sunday under section 70 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
“The court issued an arrest warrant against Jaysukh Patel of Oreva Group, which had a contract for the renovation of the Morbi bridge. He has not been arrested for 70 days. No lookout notice issued yet,” Government prosecutor Sanjay Vora said.
In the case of the Morbi incident on 20 January Patil had moved to the sessions court for anticipatory bail and while hearing on 1 February the public prosecutor was not present.
While the FIR which was filed by the police not mentioned the name of Patel.
So far in the case, nine people, including four employees of Ajanta Manufacturing (Oreva Group), have been arrested.
However, in the Morbi incident, as many as 174 people lost their lives after a century-old suspension bridge fell into the Machchhu River, Gujarat.
