SEVERAL BJP STALWARTS FROM HARYANA FAIL TO FIND BERTH IN NATIONAL EXECUTIVE

BJP on Thursday constituted a new national executive committee with 80 members, dropping two prominent leaders – Varun Gandhi and former union minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, both of whom have been critical of the contentious farm laws.

Three of the leaders—two Members of Parliament from Haryana and a Rajya Sabha member elected from Rajasthan but hailing from Haryana also succeeded in occupying the place in the list. Sunita Duggal is the only woman MP from Haryana who has been included on the list. Along with her, Krishan Pal Gujjer who is an MP from Faridabad and holds the portfolio of Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in government of India also remains a member of the National Executive.

Apart from these two, Bhupender Yadav has been included in the list, but what is of utmost importance to mention here is that he hails from South Haryana and a belt dominated by Yadavas. Everyone is familiar with Bhupender Yadav who is in the good books of Amit Shah, also shares good relationship with the party high command. Besides, he is consistently and continuously being given importance. Rao Inderjeet Singh, a Union minister for the state also enjoys a strong hold in South Haryana but is not having good terms with the party high command for a long time, also has been denied berth in new executives . In view of this, it is learnt that the BJP continues to promote Bhupender Yadav as a substitute in the above said Ahirwal belt. Union minister Rao Inderjeet Singh has not found berth in new executives as his many comments on his colleagues were seen as digs recently.

Chaudhary Birender Singh, former Union minister and member of national executive who has been speaking in support of the farmers for a long time and continues to target the three contentious agriculture laws, has been dropped as an executive member. Besides, Birender Singh continues to criticise his own party after the farmers’ agitation started. In continuation to this, it is pertinent to mention that he took on his own party in INLD’s rally indirectly accusing the BJP of spreading violence.

Sunita Duggal is the only woman MP from Haryana who has been included. Krishan Pal Gujjer who is MP from Faridabad and is MoS also remains a member.
