Minutes after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the Modi administration’s 3.0 Budget 2024, the opposition slammed the BJP-led NDA government for appeasing allies N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar.

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, accused the Modi administration of using the budget to “appease allies” for the “kursi bachao” scheme.

“Kursi Bachao” Budget. Appease Allies: Make empty promises to them at the expense of other states. Appease Cronies: Benefits for AA but little alleviation for the average Indian. – Copy & Paste: Congress Manifesto and Previous Budgets.”

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress criticized the government’s “Andhra-Bihar Budget!”. The party described the Union Budget as an opportunity to save power. “Kursi bachane ki akhri prayas!” it announced.

“This BUDGET is a complete failure with ZERO WARRANTY, presented by a FAILED FINANCE MINISTER OF A FAILED GOVERNMENT. Instead of tackling urgent issues like unemployment, rising prices and growing inflation, the BJP has crafted a budget to bribe its coalition partners and buy time before the government IMPLODES!” TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee added.

“There is an English proverb which says that the tail wags the dog, and that’s the political message of this Budget,” Congress leader Manish Tiwari said.
