The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has made another arrest in connection to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The NCB official revealed that they have arrested a person named Jagtap Singh Anand who is connected to Karamjeet Singh. Singh was arrested earlier in connection to peddling drugs. This is the 31st arrest in a case.

Japtap is elder brother of Karanajeet Singh Anand alias KJ, who was in September arrested in the same case. Karanajeet Singh Anand allegedly supplied drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput through other arrested accused persons. He was produced before a court and the court sent him to NCB custody till 8th February. After Karanjeet’s arrest, NCB officials had found that he was accepting money for drugs in Japtap’s accounts.

He had also transferred money earned out of trafficking drugs into Japtap’s account. Karanjeet alias KJ was arrested and the agency also seized his Mercedes 4Matic SUV which was reportedly being used for transportation of drugs.

According to sources, Japtap is suspected to be involved into drug peddling and has a bigger clientele supplying drugs in Mumbai and also few other cities. Japtap Singh Anand, according to NCB officials, was summoned to the NCB office on Wednesday after which he was questioned regarding the transactions and alleged financing of drug trafficking through his brother Karanjeet. After questioning Japtap for hours, he was placed under arrest on charges of financing drug trafficking and conspiracy to peddle drugs.

On Tuesday, NCB arrested Rishikesh Pawar, the ex-assistant director of Sushant Singh Rajput in connection with the drug probe. Pawar has been remanded to NCB custody till Friday. On June 14, 2020, Sushant, 34, was found hanging at his duplex rented flat in a posh building in Bandra, triggering a massive furore in Bollywood and political circles. While his death probe was taken over from Mumbai Police by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Enforcement Directorate and NCB are investigating the financial and narcotics angles.
