Australia outclassed India in the second ODI and registered an emphatic 10 wicket victory in just 11 overs, making the series 1-1. The entire match ended in 37 overs.

This is the quickest target chased against India in an ODI earlier New Zealand scored 93/2 in 14.4 overs at Hamilton in 2019.

Mitchell Starc was declared player of the match for his fantastic bowling.

Both the Australian openers made their intentions clear with the first ball and hit all the Indian bowlers all around the ground. They were phenomenal and hardly put a foot wrong. Marsh hammered the Indian bowlers and reached his fifty off 28 balls, and Head scored 51 in 30 balls.

Chasing a paltry total of 118 for winning the match and squaring the series, both the Australian openers, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh started the chase without any pressure and easily crossed the line.

Earlier, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. On this fresh pitch, the Australian fast bowlers never allowed the Indian batters to settle down.

Mitchell Starc today showed his class and bowled on an accurate line and length, never allowing the Indian batters to settle down on the ACA-VDCA pitch. Starc was firing with the new ball and sent both openers to the hut soon.

Shubman Gill failed to open his account, Kohli was looking positive about playing a long innings. But the former captain failed to capitalise the situation and was dismissed by Ellis on 31and his dismissal really broke the backbone of the Indian batting lineup.

Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel showed some resistance at the wicket. Patel was the second highest scorer in the team and remained unbeaten on 29.

Credit must be given to the visitors’ bowlers for packing the Indian team for 117 in just 26 overs.
